For a vinyl floor, a proper drainage system is crucial to prevent water accumulation and damage. A vinyl floor drain system typically consists of a drain channel or trench installed along the perimeter of the room, usually 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch deep, which is connected to a floor drain or a french drain. The drain channel is designed to catch water and direct it to the drain, preventing water from seeping underneath the vinyl floor and causing damage or warping.
